Jonathan Hayter is an artist working with light and shadow, which includes shadow puppets in a performance setting, as well as unusual installations. They reflect a personal response to the earth changes that affect our planet in these extraordinary times we all live in. Working from the traditional perspective of the ‘Dalang’ his approach is similar to that of the traditional Shaman where ancient characters -Gods and Goddesses are brought to life in a shared ritualistic modern performance. Combining music, projections and imagery Jonathan believes his work takes on a healing quality in the form of a symbiotic unconscious exchange between performer and audience. Jonathan believes his light and shadow work takes the viewer into another dimension to bring this ancient artform alive for 21st century audience...
